Project Intent is run by Fortex Media Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. This page explains what we collect, what we do with it, and what we don't do. It's written to be read, not skimmed. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@project-intent.com.
The short version
Your agent knows what you tell it. Other users don't. In this early phase our small team can read conversations to improve the product, and nobody else. We don't sell data, we don't run ads, and we don't build a public profile of you. What you say to your agent is used to make your agent better at understanding you — and, later, to find people and things that fit you, in a way you can see and control.
What we collect
When you sign up: your first name, your email address, and the name you give your agent. We use your browser's language to greet you in it, and your time zone so your agent knows what time it is where you are.
If you ask to join: your name, where you're based, what you're looking for, one sentence about yourself, and your email address.
If you invite someone: the email address you enter is used once to send the invitation and is not stored.
If you contact us: your email address and your message. We use them to reply and don't keep them longer than needed.
If you turn on notifications: a registration for your device: an address issued by your browser and two keys that let only this device read the notification. We also keep when we last sent you one, so it stays at one a day at most.
When you talk to your agent: everything you type or say. If you send a voice message, we transcribe it to text and delete the audio right after. Only the text is kept, marked as "spoken".
What your agent learns: from your conversations, your agent builds a private understanding of you — facts you've stated, and impressions it has formed, each with how sure it is and which messages it's based on. You can see this under "Understand" in the app, and you can correct or reject any of it. Corrections are kept so your agent doesn't make the same mistake twice. Your agent also keeps a short list of keywords about what you're looking for, ready for the day it talks to other agents. Today that list stays with your agent.
When you sign in: a sign-in link and code we email you, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. No password.
If something goes wrong in the app: a short technical note (which step failed, which device and browser), without your messages, audio, or sign-in tokens.
Usage: anonymous, cookieless page statistics from Vercel Web Analytics. No advertising trackers, no cross-site tracking.
What we do with it
Run your agent. Your messages and your agent's understanding of you are sent to an AI model provider to generate your agent's replies. We use Anthropic as our main provider. These providers process the text to produce a response and, under their API terms, do not use it to train their models.
OpenAI: transcription, and a standby for conversation. When you speak to your agent, the recording goes to OpenAI to be turned into text. And if Anthropic cannot be reached, a single reply in a conversation may be written by OpenAI instead; the same excerpt of the conversation goes there that would otherwise go to Anthropic. Nothing that decides what your agent keeps to itself and what may leave ever goes to OpenAI. Those questions are asked of one company only, and when it cannot answer, the entry waits rather than changing hands.
Email you. Sign-in links and codes, one welcome email when you join, and invitations you choose to send go through Resend. No newsletters, no marketing.
Improve the product. During this early phase, our small team reads conversations to find mistakes, to see where your agent misunderstands people, and to make it better. Only the team sees them. They are never shown to other users, never shared outside the company, and never used for advertising. An automated check also reviews your agent's replies each night for quality. Moments where someone may be in danger are hidden in our internal tools: we see that one happened, not what was said.
Hear your feedback. If you tell your agent something about the product, it passes that one sentence on to us, without the conversation around it.
Let you know. If you allow it, your agent tells you when it has written to you. The notification never contains anything from your conversation. It only says that your agent wrote to you, and opens the app. You can switch this off anytime in Settings. We then delete your device registrations.
Notify the team. We get a message through Telegram when someone signs up, asks to join, or gives feedback. Never your conversations.
What we don't do
We don't share your conversations, your agent's understanding of you, or your identity with other users.
Today, your agent doesn't talk to anyone else's agent. Nothing about you leaves your agent.
When that part of the product starts, other agents will only receive short signals — such as "padel · philosophy · Bali" — never your words, never the reasons behind them. Another person will see a short profile about you only when both agents are sure there's a fit, and a chat between you opens only if you both say yes. We'll update this page before that goes live, and your agent will tell you itself.
We don't sell or rent data. We don't run ads. There is no public profile.
Where it lives
Your data is stored on servers we control, with access limited to what's needed to run the service. Apple and Google deliver notifications, depending on your browser. They see your device's address and the time, not the content. Model providers, Resend and Vercel process data on our behalf under their respective agreements, some of which involve processing outside the UK and EU. Encrypted backups are stored with Backblaze.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. Audio is deleted immediately after transcription. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes. Session cookies expire after 30 days or when you sign out. If you delete your account, we delete your conversations, your agent's understanding of you, and your account details within 30 days; backups are overwritten on their normal cycle.
Your rights
You can ask your agent at any time what it knows about you and what it has shared — today the honest answer to the second question is "nothing". You can correct or reject anything it believes. You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account entirely, by writing to hello@project-intent.com. Under UK and EU data protection law you also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority; in the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
Who can use it
Project Intent is for people aged 18 and over. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, tell us and we'll remove it.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and, for anything that matters, tell you in the app before it takes effect.
